iqbal and che; the stories of rebellion
wednesday, 09.45 pm
i was lost intention to get in the facebook.com. boring. so, i was looking for my dvd collections. i found a movie which i have been fully interested to watch. the title is 'che guevara', which is produced by sergio d'amato and directed by josh evans. it's a biographical story about ernesto guevara or 'che' guevara. i turn on the tv and dvd player. the movie play with a flash back story. che told the story when he growth up as a rebel. also, when he met with fidel castro as his partner in the struggle for the justice of cuban poor people.
it spent more than one hour to watch this movie. but, until the end, i couldn't understand why che did like that. "che is very fool", in the mind of bolivian government representation. why he left the cuba whereas he found a glory for his struggle with castro? che came to bolivia as a warrior again. he died in october 9, 1967, after he was arrested in the bolivia mountain area.
after watching this movie, i immediately looked for another che's movie which i have, the motorcycle diaries. but unfortunately, i can't find this movie. i was very dejected. as the substitute, i watch another with the title 'storm rider'. a cartoon movie which tell a classic chinese kung fu story, 'wind and cloud'. finish in the 01.35 am, i'm so tired. so, it's time to sleep.
thursday, 09.00 am.
i think, it's very interesting to see che as human, not as marxist thinker or a marxist revolutioner. in my mind, che as like as muhammad iqbal, a pakistani philosopher. ya, che has a resemblance with iqbal in his character. although to make a conclusion like that it's not so easy, i have some reasons.
first, as i thought, it's regarding with the contents of a book with the title 'sosok manusiawi iqbal', an indonesian translation of iqbal's 'the stray reflections' which published by mizan. in that book, iqbal was storied as a human with have an interest to help the others without a border. iqbal's home is never locked from anybody. so, everyone can access his home in every time.
i found this character in che's figure too. he was capable of interacts with the others with his low profile, although che is an argentinean doctor in the midst of cuban or bolivian people.
second, iqbal and che are the patriots for their countries, which they have great contributions. iqbal helps muhammad ali jinnah to make pakistan reach their freedom from india and che helps fidel castro in cuba to make a win from fulgencio batista's dictatorship.
but, this factors is not my focus. i'm really interested in their journeys. in my sight, che found his journey to rebel in a war, iqbal found his journey to rebel in poets. ya, i'm very salute for che and iqbal in their contributions and in the ways of rebellion.
i forgot what iqbal said in the 'sosok manusiawi iqbal' because this book was burned away in my friend's house. but, i very like what che say in that movie, "dear mom, i miss u. but i don't miss home.". it's a childish che, but that words gave che a brave heart to his rebellioness. ;-)
